This is one of my extended work appox. 12:50 – originally written in 1979 – so it’s been around awhile. I’ve only had one band ever attempt to perform it, and it’s been unrecorded until now. Enjoy

instantly i liked and was drawn into the oriental appeal of this - and you're definately in your best voice. a great vocal. the lyrics sound 70ish (a compliment about the timelessness of them). as always your horns are well placed and give a great transition for your ever-wonderful lead solo's. interesting change-up around 3:50 and the ensuing 'bridge'. loving the lyrics and the tone of the guitar lead here - significantly hopped up and smooth...and back again to the tranquility...book/pages 'nuff to doubt me = best lines for me. guitar soars after these vocals, but, then - wait up, it's still another change - and a great drum solo -- my favorite guitar solo at 9:00...sweet outro. this is a break away from your current style/composition - obviously since it was done in '79, but it works, it's got cool characters and a beginning, middle and end - just like any good mini drama ought to! joyce likes this. Wow! I had the volume on high and the headphones on and that first sound damn near killed me! LOL This song has a kind of epic movie soundtrack quality. Kind of new agey for my taste but solid and still full of the always interesting Gene Hilbert touches. I wouldn't have thought of going from the cymbal sweeps to the guitar solo with the brass intro like that! Like I said, Gene Hilbert touches! Then it really starts moving too. Overall, it's quite the piece. So much to take in musically and the journey doesn't disappoint. Nicely done.

Wow gene this is very solid..
Love how you have worked those guitar harms in..There's some real cool changes my friend..The vocal harmony is wicked..This must have taken a while. You have some solid lead work..Woa nice piano break into vocal line..Hint's of southern rock in there...7 23 drum break is wicked..lol awesome!!!!!I think you could have expanded a bit more in in the slight slap bass work right before the horn section.Ok listening to another cool solo...Nice one....Ok so this one awesome track and I think for the sheer magnitude of this track you deserves a big kudos for an awesome job!

Great progressive piece of work Gene, unusual to hear brass so prominent in your tunes in the early part of the music, like someone else said although it is 12 minutes, it evolves and twists and turns and feels natural and not overcooked at all. As always, love your guitar tone Groovin
